This month, we are reading Strangers Tend to Tell Me Things by Amy Dickinson, a memoir chronicling a journey of family, second chances, and finding love.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Syndicated advice columnist (Ask Amy) shares reminiscences of her life in a small village, Freeville NY, (pop. 520) outside Ithaca.  The bulk of the memoir deals with family topics, coping with the deteriorating health of her mother, dealing with her profound attachment to people, places, and houses, and her midlife search, as a single Mom living in Washington, DC, to find her own “Mr. Darcy,” who turns out to be a “hunky contractor.”
