Katrina Foelsche, BOOKSELLER

Katrina is fortunate to belong to not only one but two mommy-daughter book clubs, so she is often buried in both the latest and classic children’s books. While she will try any genre, she often gravitates to fiction, YA fantasy, and comedic memoirs. Her favorites over the years have evolved from One Morning in Maine to the Babysitter Club series (before it was a graphic novel) to The Great Gatsby to Life After Life, by Kate Atkinson.

Katrina lives in Alexandria with her husband and two daughters. Besides books, her other loves are movies, museums, and dance performances. She also enjoys curating her neighborhood’s Little Free Library, mentoring her Space of Her Own (SOHO) mentee, and organizing events to engage her family in volunteering and service through the UVA alumni club and other organizations.

Maas, Barabara Kingsolver, Richelle Mead, Diana Gabaldon, Marissa Meyer, and Christopher Moore. Her favorite book of 2018 is Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. DANIELLE ROBINSON, BOOKSELLER

Danielle’s earliest memory is of sitting at Mrs. Havasta’s desk, reading in dappled sunlight, while her preschool classmates were required to nap. In those days, she was obsessed with Maurice Sendak, Richard Scarry and The Giant Jam Sandwich. Danielle never outgrew the habit of reading when she should be sleeping, and in recent years, stayed up way too late reading (and loving) Homegoing, The Goldfinch, Beartown, Educated, and the oeuvre of Tana French. In the early days of motherhood, when sleep was actually welcome, she spent many a night reading Chugga Chugga Choo-Choo and The Circus Ship, both of which she could likely still recite from memory. Before joining the team at Hooray for Books!, Danielle spent the bulk of her time carpooling to youth sporting events, volunteering, and in her down time, practicing law.
